at と throw to の使い分け
たとえば、① throw a ball at [人] と ② throw a ball to [人] の違いは、
① は「(相手に) 当てよう(ate-you)と思って」投げる。
②は「(相手が) とれるよう(toreru-you)に」投げる。
という意味になります。
● throw [物] at [人] のイメージ … 「[人] に投げつける」って感じでしょうか
イラストでは、銀行強盗に対してカラーボールを投げつけています。
※ カラーボール: anti-thief colored ball /anti-crime color balls
● throw [物] to [人]
のイメージ … 「[人] に投げてあげる」って感じでしょうか
イラストでは、溺れかけている人に対して、救命浮き輪を投げてあげています。
※ 救命浮き輪: Life buoy [búːi / bɔi]
